Adding Data for Family Historian

Now we need to add the Birth Date field contents into the template, so it writes in the correct place. Click on the next line in your template and write # add Birth Date
On the next line type [Birth Date]
On the next line type # tab twice to get to Baptism Date
On the next line type {TAB*2}
Now we need to insert the baptism date and place, which ORA has extracted as Event Date and either Event Place or Event Place (Original). Pity Family Search hasn't quite got this right! I would like to see the Event Place as Saint Matthew, Bethnal Green, Middlesex, England. We can 'make' my place on ORA!
On the next line type [Event Date]{TAB}
On the next line type [Event Place (Original)], Middlesex, England
Note that we have added text into our template which will get written in the output.
Our Autotype template should now look like:

Click on the Test button and you should now see Output
{TAB*4}2 April 1846{TAB*2}9 May 1860{TAB}Saint Matthew, Bethnal Green, Middlesex, England
and the Trace link.

You can now also actually run the template to see what it does. Look at the ORA Control Panel, and you will see that the 1 button is yellow or if there isn't a 1 button, this means there have been changes made to the template, and the Control Panel needs to be refreshed.

Click on the refresh button on the top left above the 1 button, and this will refresh the Control Panel Make sure you have cleared out the Born date on Matilda's Family Historian Page, click on her Name to reset the cursor, and then Click the 1 button. Sit back and watch the autotype at work.
Well done, we now have a working Autotype template.

In this autotype template, we have only used the {TAB} keyboard function to navigate around Family Historian. There are lots of other keyboard shortcuts that we can use. see the FH Keys and ORA Keys tabs on this website, or even the section on Ora Navigation in Family Historian under the Code Tips tab.

We can change the speed of the autotype template from its default of {SLOW} to {FAST} and even put in pauses with {250} or {500} or any number of milliseconds inside the {nnn}. If you want to see our autotype template running fast, add the line {FAST} just above the first {TAB*4}, refresh the Control Panel, tidy up Matilda's date and place fields, and then Click the 1 button. There is no way anyone can type that fast!
Back to building our template
Leave the {FAST} in place, and on the bottom line of the ORA Settings Autotype template, type {SLOW}
